Having a coach is by far the best investment I’ve made to improve my race results and my enjoyment of running.

MEET BILLY

So, I’ve been coached by James for the best part of a year.
I have completed marathons, the UK Ironman and multiple Ultramarathons over the past 12 years, all with free online training programmes that I’d found.


Last year, I wanted to get a monkey off my back and complete the only race I’d DNF’d. I had started with a free online programme and was struggling.


I met up with James and after some initial gait analysis and a chat about my goals, he set me up with a personalised programme to fit around my job and to get me prepared for the Race Across Scotland. This time around, I finished it!
Since then, we’ve been working together and I have completed lactate testing to really fine-tune my training. The result has been an improved marathon PB by 20 minutes and I’m now signed up for Race Across Scotland again with fresh targets to hopefully improve my time by 15 hours!


James has a wealth of knowledge and experience he can draw from to help you reach your targets. James has the enthusiasm and desire to continue his learning to improve the services he is able to provide so that we can get even better results than we would hope for.

James wants regular feedback on sessions so that he can use the detail to improve training plans and he will provide me with regular feedback on my performance to help motivate me for training. The online programme also helps to keep me accountable, something that I was struggling with when I was using the free, generic programmes.

Performance analysis, nutritional guidance, psychological support are all part of the service. 3D gait analysis and lactate testing are bolt-ons that I’d highly recommend as they will help refine your training.

Another benefit is the awesome community that you’ll become a part of, the additional moral support, FAQ’s, inspirational performances and new running/race buddies are a real boost to the training.

Hand on heart, I would not have had the results I’ve had without James’ input. Having a coach is by far the best investment I’ve made to improve my race results and my enjoyment of running.
