I was gifted one of James’ training packages for Christmas, it was perfect timing as it coincided with the beginning of marathon season training.

I filled in a form before I met with James face to face to discuss my lifestyle and needs. What really struck me is that I really felt listened to and understood. He really took the time to get to know me and very cleverly explained some of the science behind nutrition and running (he really knows his stuff!). His gentle, but persistent, reminders about hydration and nutrition are invaluable to make sure I stay on track.

James created a really personalised plan that went from the app to my watch automatically. This really worked for me as I felt challenged without killing me and James had made sure it fitted around my family and work. The plan also includes S&C sessions which are very well designed and supported by videos of James modelling the exercises. After each session, I contact him via the app and always get a response and advice straight away about how the session went –I’ve got a coach in my pocket. When I felt unwell over the winter, James adapted the plan and made sure I didn’t give up.

The Bay Run Coaching Athletes WhatsApp community is a great source of advice, support and encouragement under James’ watchful eyes…he would remind everyone of upcoming events so can cheer each other on, share important and interesting information….

My marathon came and went and, after a short recovery period, I missed the structure, the guidance and the challenge that James had provided me so, I went back for more and loving it!

With his support and experience, I feel I will achieve my next fitness goals of speed and distance.
